World Spice Food Festival is an international gastronomic festival of spicy food that takes place in Sri Lanka with 2005 . In October it will be possible to visit from 4 to 13 of the day . The festival is aimed at maintaining the image of a country that is full of spices and has historical ties with the countries of the Far East and Asia . World Spice Food Festival is held to promote the national spicy cuisine among foreign g and the expansion of the menu in hotels and restaurants . In addition, it is assumed that Sri Lankan cooks will gain more experience in preparing national spicy dishes of other countries .

15 chefs from different countries will take part in the event: from India, Australia , Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Pakistan, Latin America, China, the Middle East, Mongolia and Mexico. Within the framework of the festival, several public events will be held, the most striking among them will be the Food Fair of Street Trading, which will take place in the place "Board Walk" near the hotel "Waters Edge", in Battaramula from 5 to 7 October 2012.
