The Pacific Arts Festival, which takes place every four years and is the largest cultural festival in the South Pacific, will be held this year between July 1 and 14. The festival, which is held since 1972, will bring together masters from 27 countries of the Pacific region and territories for demonstrating crafts, music, dances, literature, and much more. This year's theme will be "Culture in harmony with nature."

Delegates for the festival are selected by their country / territory, and their main task is to present their country, rather than compete with other participants. Thus, the festival is a rare cultural exchange between countries separated from each other by large distances and undeveloped transport infrastructure.

The event will be held on a specially constructed site near the village of Honiara along with other holidays. For the Solomon Islands, this cultural event will be the largest in their history. Local authorities hope that it will attract a large number of tourists and help to open the potential of Honiara. The next festival will be held only in Guam in 2016.
