Railway Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka's Ministry of Transport announced the launch of a new comfortable train on the route Colombo-Kandy .

For the railways of Sri Lanka, the event is historic: for the first time since 1864, a luxury train has been plying the island. In its cars, air conditioners and electronic entertainment systems will be installed. The rolling stock will include 10 wagons, comprising 44 seats each. The train will run three times a week, departing from Colombo on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Returns from Kandy are appointed, respectively, on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. The fare will be 500 rupees one way

Of course, the new train is designed primarily for tourists who want to discover the beauty of the island in a "railway" format.
