Add a review about Haight-Ashbury
The glorious district of San Francisco Haight-Ashbury went down in history in 1967, the hot summer of which gathered here about one hundred thousand hippies to celebrate the famous Summer of Love. It was then that the ideology of the hippy turned from a subculture into a powerful movement, proclaiming free love, creativity and giving up material values as the main values. Well, Haight-Ashbury received the honorary title of "where it all began."
Today Haight-Ashbury is still full of life, the vibrant and bubbling area of San Francisco. There are many thematic shops connected with the culture of hippies, designer boutiques, music and bookstores. Restaurants and bars compete with each other in originality, invariably proclaiming the values of the hippies.
Among the sights of the Haight Ashbury district is the historic hotel The Red Victorian, housed in a carmine-colored ancient mansion and leading its history from 1904, San Francisco at the end of the 19th century of the architectural style of the "painted ladies."
