The large rectangular tower that closes the southern wall reaches fourteen meters

The Michael Archangel Church of the 18th century, built in the Baroque style by the father of General-Field Marshal Fedot Mikhailovich, is located outside the territory of the fortress. It is rumored that the author may have been the famous architect Rastrelli or one of his students, which may well be with the necessary acquaintances and special ties of Kamensky at the court. Later, a refectory was attached to the church.

In this church in 1809, the Count Mikhail Fedotovich Kamensky was buried, and in 1811 his son Nikolai, the general from the infantry, was buried under white simple tombstones without inscriptions. After the closure of the temple in 1930 and its destruction, the graves of Kamensky were opened and ransacked. In the 90's. the Moscow descendants of Count Kamensky reburied the ashes and installed two memorial plaques on the wall of the Mikhailo-Arkhangelsk church.

In the western part of the fortress only two pyramids have been preserved, attracting the attention of all who come here - gunpowder that was used as ordinary glaciers, they stored the products laid on the ice, cut down in the winter from the river Tsong.
From the Count's house some parts of the basement, the steps of the staircase leading to the chic for those times the count's garden with beautiful greenhouses, and bo shie pit, like basements.

Now Saburovskuyu fortress and church with its bell tower and refectory gradually restore and rebuild. A trip to this picturesque place, the pearl of the Oryol region, brings a lot of pleasure to the soul and heart, although it is a pity that the fortress did not become an object of the tourist show, and you can see it only in private. But who knows ... Everything is ahead!
