The hall of the century in Wrocław, formerly known as the People's Hall, is a historic building built by the architect Max Berg in 1911-1913 . when the city was part of the German Empire . In the building and around it one can often see tourists : it is close to other tourist attractions, such as the Wroclaw Zoo, the Japanese Garden and the pergola with a multimedia fountain . The building, which is one of the earliest examples of fortified concrete construction, has become one of the officially recognized Nats -regional historical monuments in 2005 . The following year, UNESCO has made it to the World Heritage List sites .

opening of the building was part of the celebrations in honor of the 100th anniversary of the victory over Napoleon. The municipal authorities of Breslau paid for the construction of their own pockets. The landscape and architectural ensemble around the hall were created by Hans Polzig and were discovered in 1913. A large pond with fountains was built on the territory, which surrounded a large pergola in the shape of half an ellipse. To the north, the Japanese Garden was built.

Today the hall continues to be actively used for sports events and concerts. After the renovation of 2010, the hall can accommodate 10 thousand people

After the celebrations the building served many purposes . It was located on the Exhibition grounds, where horse races had been held before, far from the theater of war that unfolded in Breslau in 1945 g . After Poland became an independent republic, the Communists renamed the building into the People's Hall . In 1948 . metal sculpture "Needle" 106 m high was erected directly in front of it . Last large-scale restorations were held in hall in 1997 and 2010 ., and now I continue to use it actively for sports events and concerts . After the renovation of 2010 . the hall was able to accommodate 10 thousand . person .

The monument "Iglitsa" as a result of restoration works of the modern period lost the upper 10 m , but still seems impressive. The monument is officially included in the number of historical monuments of the country, although no one in Wrocław today can truly say what it symbolizes.

The building is distinguished by a dome with an internal diameter of 69 m. The dome height is 42 m, and at the time of construction it was the most a tall building of this type. The main part of 23 m high is made of steel and glass. The building with many windows became a model of a new architectural style in the 20th century.
