This morning, the Taiwan authorities decided to urgently evacuate more than 2,000 tourists because of the approaching typhoon Soulik, whose speed currently reaches 200 kilometers per hour.
According to the Taiwan Meteorological Agency, this night the typhoon was 800 kilometers to the southeast from the "almost independent" Chinese province, and already on the night from Friday to Saturday it could reach the shore. In connection with the current potentially dangerous situation, local authorities announced the evacuation of 2,300 tourists from the Green Island, a regional center for snorkeling, diving and camping.
According to preliminary forecasts, Taiwan will not be the only territory that can suffer from the typhoon Soulik: The Okinawa Islands also warned local residents of 12-meter waves and wind squalls to 234 kilometers per hour.
