Long ago, back in the 16th century, during the Ming dynasty (1368-1644 yy .), one provincial treasurer Pan Yunduan wished to give a gift to his elderly parents, creating for them a beautiful and spacious garden reminiscent of the Beijing imperial . But he did not have much money, and after starting the construction, he did not wait for the graduation, not to mention his mother and father . Sad passed from hand to hand and over a century and a half was created, built and rebuilt . And , finally, it turned out what we admire so far . Later the Yu-Yuang garden (Garden of Mandarin) became a part of the temple of the deity-patron of the city . Inner Garden (part of Yu-Yuan) was completed in 1709 .
Yu-Yuan Garden (in translation - "The Garden of Happiness", "Garden of Joy" or "Garden of leisurely leisure") - a wonderful sight of Shanghai. You can admire its magnificent layout, its exquisite art style of architecture and picturesque landscapes endlessly admire.
Yu-Yuan (Yu Yuan) is divided into several parts, separated by walls with round arches. Ancient architects created an amazing harmony between architecture and nature, a garden and a human dwelling. Natural areas covered with greenery and reservoirs harmoniously combined with pavilions and patios, in which you can see a stone paved with stone, and sometimes decorated with mosaic floor. Intricate frames frame the windows of the pavilions. On the edges of the roofs are placed severe muzzles of monsters that must guard houses from evil spirits
One of the values of the garden is a fabulously beautiful five-ton jade rock, a bizarre shape, brought here from the Wuxi town of Jiangsu Province from Taihu Lake. A porous stone, with a wrinkled surface and slender forms, as if passing light. According to legend, a stone found about a thousand years ago was first owned by the Emperor Huizong of the Song Dynasty (960-1279) and was only later brought to the Yu-Yuan garden.
Located on a territory of four hectares in the center of the old city of Nanshi Yu-Yuan garden is a poetically romantic, quiet, reminiscent of the rural world in the center of the ultra-quiet modern metropolis.
You can get into this marvelous garden only after going through the huge shopping area of the bazaar district . Dozens of benches and shops selling everything you can buy (Chinese souvenirs, tea, paintings, bamboo products, antiques, all sorts of knick-knacks along with pelmeni, wine, pies and many others) . Tourist district, so prices are quite high, and bargain is practically useless . Sassy sellers grab tourists by the hand are dragged into their shop, they offer all kinds of nonsense . Therefore, it's rather difficult to get through this market bazaar .
