Monopolist in the field of rail transportation in Ukraine UZD increases the prices for travel in long-distance trains

The new tariffs came into force simultaneously with their publication in the official publication "Official Gazette of Ukraine" (analogue of "Rossiyskaya Gazeta") . The cost of tickets to reserved seats and compartment cars on domestic routes grew by 10% (from October 1 it will grow by another 10 %) . Similar increases were made for tickets for international trains, but their cost increased by only 5% (an additional tariff increase of 5% is also envisaged from October 1) . The tariff increase did not affect the Intercity + , tickets to which e and so are beyond all reasonable limits .

As the representatives of UZ, rise in the cost of tickets will allow the company to reduce the loss-making part of transportation that is only the first half of this year amounted to 3, 5 billion hryvnia (about 14 billion rubles). The additional revenue will be spent on the repair of rolling stock and improvement of the country's railway stations
