Yanartash translates as "burning mountain". It is shrouded in smoke and fire, according to scientists, because of the accumulated natural gas. The gas comes to the surface, it is attacked by oxygen - and the fire show begins. There is another explanation of where the flame comes from. According to legend, the Greek hero Bellerophon killed the terrible monster Chimera, who spewed the fire, and threw it into the mountain. So the fire comes from the Chimera, all claims to it.
Indeed, the flame on Yanartash does not go out either day or night. Especially spectacular the mountain looks at night: the red pines walk along the elephant and descend to the sea, illuminated by the moon. Looking at such a landscape, you will believe in the monster and in the heroes.
Yanartash is located near the settlement of Cirali, near Kemer. You can get there either on your own or as part of one of the numerous excursions
