According to legend, about 60 years ago, a local healer saw a vision in which snakes should help local people enrich themselves. From this moment the snakes became habitual inhabitants of the place, which acquired unusual fame because of them.
According to the established tradition, near each house (and there are 140 of them in the village) there lives a snake, which can be both a poisonous cobra and more safe python. Children are taught to treat snakes since childhood, and street battles between creeping reptiles and humans are a favorite entertainment for local residents.
