From the history of the park

The ecological park was created in the middle of the 20th century according to the project of the Leningrad Institute and was at that time the working title Western, later the park was renamed the Communist. The park is located on an area of ​​50 hectares between Lesoparkovaya Street, Telecentre, Orangerine Street and Druzhba Horticultural Association. In 1991, the eco-park became the responsibility of the Education Center and became its educational base.

Here you can find about 30 species of trees and shrubs, about 25 species of medicinal herbs that grow in different regions of the South Urals.

A lot of attention is paid to the development and ennobling of the eco-park territory. Since 1998, work has been carried out to restore artificial reservoirs, an equestrian center has been created, and a garden of stones has been built. In the summer, on the basis of the eco-park, the "Zabota" labor and rest camp operates, in which there are several fascinating circles: ornithological, floricultural, phytodesign circle and aquariums, etc.

In recent years, many parks and squares of Magnitogorsk fell under commercial construction, the eco-park also turned out to be among the zones intended for construction. Townspeople are fighting for the safety of their favorite park, and activists regularly carry out actions for the cancellation of construction.
