Add a review about the Taganrog Museum of Aeronautical Engineering

Taganrog Aviation Technology Museum was founded in 1995 . This was facilitated by the conclusion during this period of an agreement on the limitation of the Russian armed forces in Europe, as a result of which the number of military aircraft had to be reduced . In the city created a base for the elimination of equipment, but its chief engineer suggested saving at least one aircraft of each type (of course, without engines and airborne systems) . The idea "passed", and the first curator of the museum was all the same enthusiastic engineer, n lieutenant-colonel . Stoyanov . Currently the Taganrog Museum is the only aviation museum in the south of Russia .

The museum is relatively small (although compared to some foreign ones, it is very large) . But at the same time it is extremely interesting: many of the local exhibits have a rich history and very interesting features . At the same time, few people know about the museum and most of the groups of schoolchildren visit it with excursions . But there are no hired guides here: museum staff have been engaged for many years military aircraft engineering; they gladly tell and show their beloved child . The museum's visit not only turns out to be very interesting, but also awakens legitimate pride for domestic aviation .

At present Taganrog Museum is the only aviation museum in the south of Russia.

The museum's collection currently includes 12 aircraft, a helicopter, a selection of Russian weapons for airplanes (rockets, bombs, cannons), samples of armchairs-catapults, cockpit cockpit mock-up and various equipment of pilots.

The newest exhibits entered the museum in 2011 His custodian and employees find abandoned and destined planes in other cities of Russia, are engaged in transportation and independently carry out restoration. Some of the decommissioned models were actually saved from the scrap metal situation.

The aircraft collection includes such aircraft as An-2, L-29 and L-39, five MiGs, two Su, one Yak, as well as the nose part of Tu-154 . Among them there are really "well-deserved" and interesting models . For example, it is a vertical takeoff and landing apparatus Yak-38, MiG-25BM, the story was created only 40, or combat Mig-23, which fought in Afghanistan . Or MiG-23, the stars on the wings of which you can itat number of sorties: 250! A special pride of the museum is the Be-12, an amphibious aircraft designed in the late 1950s .to search and destroy enemy submarines .

Not many people know about this, but the history of Taganrog as an aviation city began back in 1916, when a branch of the aircraft manufacturer's industrial firm Lebedev opened here. In Soviet times, the factory turned into an aircraft factory (now TAVIA), and a design bureau was opened nearby, which became the only one in the country that developed seaplanes.

All the exhibits can be touched and examined: even sit in the cab and hold the steering wheel. For children, special excursions are organized around the museum. In addition, in the museum you can see a collection of airplane models
