Miniature Shchudrovskaya tent is often called the symbol of the city of Ivanovo. A unique brick building appeared here before the current administrative center of the Ivanovo region was founded. The civil building is recognized as the oldest architectural monument of the "City of Brides". It is known that the Shchudrovskaya tent was erected at the end of the 17th century.
Shchudrovskaya tent was named after the merchant Osip Shchudrov, who became the owner of the building in the 19th century. The enterprising owner opened a ramming factory in the former orderly hut, where workers applied drawings to the fabric. The construction has no analogues either in Ivanovo or in neighboring regions.
There is an opinion that the "face" of the Shchudrovskaya tent was the facade overlooking the Krasnogvardeyskaya Street of Ivanova. It was to his design that the masters came up with a fiction, highlighting the corners with the shoulder blades. A podklet or the lower tier of the house is separated from the first floor by a curb, the windows are decorated with carved platbands with keeled endings. The original view of the stone building was returned only in 1964, the restoration itself was completed in 1988.
