Izhevsk Zoo is one of the main sights of the capital of Udmurtia. Izhevsk Zoo is considered to be one of the largest and richest in the Volga region. The total area of the zoo is as much as 16 hectares.
There are several exposition areas on the territory of the park. These zones are formed according to the zoogeographical principle: near each other there are animals that live in the natural environment in the neighborhood. In the Izhevsk Zoo, you can visit the exposition "White North", "Far East", "Our Taiga", "Pond" and "Udmurt Village". In the pavilion there is a "Monkey Country".
The symbol of the zoo is a bronze wolf - a statue near the central entrance. It is believed that if you touch the nose of the statue, you can expect the fulfillment of desire. Of course, such legends go about half the statues. But with a wolf near the Izhevsk Zoo everything is different: his president was touched by the President of Udmurtia, and, probably, his wishes were fulfilled!
