On Sunday in Oslo the opening of the long-awaited exhibition "Munch-150", timed, as the name implies , to the 150th anniversary of the birth of the iconic Norwegian artist Edvard Munch.
Edward Munch (1863-1944) is rightly considered the brightest representative of expressionism in painting. The townsfolk know Munch, first of all, as the creator of the legendary picture "Scream". The new exhibition will feature the largest collection of the artist's works in the history: in total, visitors will be able to see 220 paintings. The basis of the exhibition will be the reconstruction of the cycles of works "The Freeze of Life" (1902) and "The Freese for Reinhardt" (1906-1907)
The volume of exhibited exhibits is so huge that the organizers decided to hold the "Munch-150" exhibition at two venues: in the National Gallery and the Munch Museum. As follows from the press release, the main goal of the exhibition is to give visitors the opportunity to open their own Munch and show it as a constantly experimenting artist, keeping pace with the times.
Visit the jubilee exhibition of the Expressionist artist until October 13.
