The theater "Bellevue" in Amsterdam go and tourists and locals - its cabaret programs, it is famous for nearly 80 years. Amsterdam theater-cabaret is not surprising, but this stage site has remained popular for many years, and was once considered to be the best in the country.
The name "Bellevue" was received by the theater from the women's club that used to be in this building before. It was built in 1840, turned into a theater in the 30s. the last century, several times rebuilt, but still working. It is noteworthy that there was always only entertainment theater here - not classical, but comedy and music (such stability is a rarity in European capitals), and local residents have been coming here for generations. It is also interesting that, with a relatively small size, this theater is divided into three halls.
The main part of the theater is Grote Zaal, that is the Great Hall. Here, respectively, the biggest performances - performances, concerts and shows. Klein Bellevue Hall ( "Small Bellevue") specializes in theater and Palonizaal ( «Hall Palonen") - at the cabaret concerts and comedy performances, combined with dinner (with locals this is probably the most popular option)
program.
Put here only entertaining things. If the performances are comedic, if the show is funny (there are dance, parody, clown, etc.). Concerts are the most diverse, but usually if the classics - it is also not too academic. In addition to its own productions, there stands the mass of a variety of guest performers: imported shows, concerts, comedy performances - all can be found
Also imported musicals, although not very often, are held here. But the program for visits with children is difficult to find here: cabaret is, as you know, an institution for adults. When planning a visit is worth considering that the Dutch have a peculiar sense of humor, the Russians often incomprehensible that theater in Holland is very different from the French, as well as -. That most of the activities with speech is in Dutch
