Brunek is located 35 km from Brixen, 70 km from Bolzano and Brenner Pass and 60 km from Winnebach on the border with East Tyrol. The nearest airports are in Verona, Innsbruck and Munich
Brunek is located on the railway line connecting the Italian city of Fortezza and Austrian Linz. Trains depart in both directions every hour. A little history
Brunek was founded by Bishop Bruno von Kirchberg and was first mentioned in 1256. Starting from the 14th and 15th centuries, Bruneck, located on the trade route between Augsburg and Venice, began to flourish. Around the same time, an art school was founded in the city, where Michael and Friedrich Pachher were trained, which brought Bruneck even more glory.
In 1500 the valley of Pustertal joined the lands of Tyrol, and only after the First World War did Bruneck become part of the Italian state and was renamed Brunico.
