The Magnificent Arc de Triomphe is a famous architectural monument and simply a symbol of Paris located on the Charles de Gaulle square
History
Arch building was initiated by the order of Emperor Napoleon after the Battle of Austerlitz in 1806. The construction of one foundation took about two years, its final form of the arch acquired only in 1836, when Bonaparte was already resting on St. Helena in the grave. A century later, the remains of the Unknown Soldier who died in the First World War were buried under the arches in 1921.
Interesting fact: when in 1810 Paris was waiting for the visit of the Empress Marie-Louise, the arch was not yet ready. Then, on the stone foundation, a "decoration" of the future arch from the planks and canvas was created.
The two main sculptural groups face the center - the famous Marseillaise Ryda ("The Departure of the Volunteers of 1792") and the "Triumph of 1810" by Corto with Napoleon in the center. On the sides of the arch are bas-reliefs of the triumphal victories of the imperial army. You can find our compatriots on the side of Vahram Street (victory at Austerlitz)
Modernity
Today the tradition of lighting the Memorial Fire is directly connected with the majestic arch. The arch is decorated with stunning bas-reliefs by F. Ryud. Inside the monument there is a museum of the same name, in addition, anyone can go up to the observation deck, which opens a beautiful view of Paris
You can reach the Arc de Triomphe to the Charles de Gaulle - Etoile station or by bus. Opening hours of the museum and the site: April-September Mon-Sun 10.00-23.00, October-March Mon-Sun 10.00-22.30, Entrance - 9 EUR (full), 5, 50 EUR (preferential)

I managed to visit the French capital Paris this year, and I'm still impressed by this city. The first day after arrival, I certainly, like all the tourists went to see the Eiffel Tower. I had to stand in line for a long time to buy a ticket and go up to the second level, but it was that style. Unfortunately, on top of the French tower you can not see the structure itself, and it is this attraction that gives Paris an exquisite look. Then, I learned that you can get to the Arc de Triomphe, ... Read the full review

The Arc de Triomphe, built in the center of Paris, is a landmark that must be visited while in the French capital. What is remarkable about the arch? Well, firstly, you can look at it for free. The arch depicts bas-reliefs, names, and in the evening it is also highlighted. In the arch more historical value than the specific beauty and luxury. By itself, the arch is not very impressive, but the construction of the arch was started by Napoleon Bonaparte! Secondly, there is a small museum ... Read full review

As they say, to see Paris, one day is not enough. But if you only have one day, do not waste it on the queue at the Louvre. Do not spend time in the ascent to the Eiffel Tower. Perhaps you do not have time to get to Montmartre. However, there is a place for which you definitely have enough time and energy. It is located in the heart of Paris, it is convenient to go to the side of the well-known Champs Elysees. It is, of course, the Triumphal Arch. She, really, is triumphal. And that's why.
- Perfect location ... Read full review

Paris and not see the Arc de Triomphe is simply impossible. It is located in the heart of the Charles de Gaulle square, very close to the metro. The arch is decorated with various stucco moldings and bas-reliefs. There are always a lot of tourists here, and a stunning view of Paris opens. The entrance to the museum located in the arch is paid, it cost us twelve euros, but if you have an international student's aisik, there is a discount there. Frankly speaking, it seemed to us that the entrance fee was enough for the museum ... Read the full review

Perhaps one of the most beautiful sights of Paris is the Arc de Triomphe. This arch was built in honor of the fallen military France. On the inside of the arch there are names and pictures. The ticket is bought in the passage, which leads to the Arc de Triomphe. To buy a ticket, it takes fifteen minutes to stand in line. If desired, you can climb to the arch. In addition to the queue for buying a ticket, there is also a small queue near the entrance, in which we stood for twenty minutes. Lift lifted us to the first floor ... Read the full review

To visit Paris and not to see one of its main attractions - The Arc de Triomphe is a huge a great omission. Its construction dates back to Napoleon's time. so it stores the architectural delights of the 18th century. The Arc de Triomphe is a very majestic structure, decorated with sculptures, and there is a museum inside it, which can be visited in any month of the year at a certain time, paying an entrance fee of 9 euros (as far as I remember, there are discounts for children, students and ...
