Russian Railways has recorded a boom in ticket sales for foreign destinations during the New Year holidays. The current record is the Moscow-Paris train
Vladimir Kalyapin, deputy general director of the Federal Passenger Company (FPK), has now fully sold the flights to the French capital on December 26, 29 and 30. In addition to Paris, a similar situation is observed on New Year's trains to Nice, where there are also almost no vacant seats. The remaining European destinations are unlikely to remain unsold: the Russian rail carrier even had to launch additional trains to Tallinn and Helsinki.
In total, Russian Railways plans to transport almost 5.5 million passengers during the New Year holidays.
