Mastercard research showed that Europeans increasingly prefer to use a bank card instead of cash on travel.
The main result: 91% of respondents take a bank card with them on vacation, while only 60% use it at the usual time. The highest figure was shown by representatives of France: 98% of them use a bank card during travel and 65% in daily life.
To the question "why do you prefer to pay with a card during the holiday? "Respondents responded as follows:
- because of its practicality (65%)
- because of fear of being robbed (41%)
- because this is the safest way of payment (38%)
- due to lack of cash (37%)
- because this is the fastest way to pay (34%). %)
In addition, 44% of respondents are confident that in the near future cash will disappear forever from everyday turnover.
