Pec pod Sněžkou - a charming ski resort in the Czech Republic, in the heart of the gently loved by the Czechs of the Krokonosze mountain range . The highest mountain in the Czech Republic Sněžka reaches 1602 m above sea level . At its top there is a weather station, the final station of the funicular stretched from Peza, Chapel Sv . Vavrzhyntsa, built in 1681 ., and the newest nine-storey building - a post with the lyric name "Anechka", which was given to a fully high-tech building by the Romantic architects Martin Rainstein and Patrick Hofmfman . The city itself is located, as is obvious from its name, directly under Snezkoy . This is a wonderful, quiet place in the valley of the Upa river that does not prevent it from being a very popular tourist and sports center .

The city consists of two parts - the Pec and the Great Upa itself (Velka Upa ), there live in it as many as 600 inhabitants, most of whom work on the routes, in cozy cafes, chalets and hotels. Although Pec and Upa are favored by alpine skiers, local recreation enthusiasts in the Crocone Mountains consider them year-round resorts. And indeed, the mountain air, wonderful landscapes, the cable car and the quiet river do not disappear anywhere in the summer or autumn.

How to get to

Getting to Pez is very easy . By plane to Prague, then by bus 170 km, the journey takes a bit more than 3 hours . To Prague, if someone does not like air travel, it is quite possible to get there by train . Every evening at 23:55 from Moscow the train departs from Belorussky railway station, time on the way - about 30 hours . This, by the way, is not as tedious as it might seem, since you sit at night and arrive every other day early in the morning, so you are actually going to the day, and the rest of the time, sleep . Then - bus to Pez . Please note that the bus can go not only from the main station, but also from Holesovice, or the "Black Bridge" . We recommend to make inquiries at the railway station or at the airport . The personnel in these places are speaking well in English, people of the older and middle generation still remember Russian .

And in general, the language barrier is not a Czech topic at all, here you will never have any problems with communication.

Slopes and slopes

The main attraction of any mountain resort - of course, the mountains themselves and everything around them. Despite the relatively small height, Snezhka will be pleased with the variety of routes of the most varied complexity, here their 11, clearly separated by colors, there is even one "black". Therefore, it will not be boring either to make the first steps on skis, nor to real aces. Three routes of the resort are lit in the evening. For lovers of snowboarding, a fan park is open, and the local branch of the ski school of Spindleruv Mlyn Ski School Spindl offers mountain skiing courses and equipment hire.

Petz-Pod-Snezkoy is a wonderful, quiet place in the Upa river valley, which does not prevent him from being very popular tourist and sports center.

You can get to the top of Snezka by cable car, which runs either directly from Pec, or through Ruzhov Mountain, which makes the route even more interesting. The road runs from 8:00 to 19:00. The prices for tickets range from 130-250 CZK depending on the route. There are family, children's tickets, as well as tickets for other preferential categories.

Organizers of excursions to Snezka are strongly advised to take into account a significant change in temperature and humidity at altitude, especially in summer, and be sure to stock up on warm clothing.

Hotels

With a relatively small amount of resort accommodation options are very many - for every taste and purse. If you prefer not to worry about where and how to eat in the morning, please the hotels with breakfasts are waiting for you. Another great and favorite way of accommodation for local tourists is apartments, since the Czech Republic is not the country where there can be a problem with food. Moreover, the apartments are always cheaper and give the opportunity to feel like a non-guest, but a real citizen.

Cuisine

Talk about Czech cuisine for a long time, but still not find the right words . It's better to come and try, no disappointment is expected . But all -something we will try to share with you in advance . The basis of the Bohemian cuisine - both Old Bohemian and modern, of course, meat . And cheham is equally sweet and pork, and beef . The most win-win dish from beef is beef with vegetables, "greenery", as the Czechs say, from the pigs - fried pork . You should definitely try "roasted kahn" (fried duck), favorably a dish of the old Czech cuisine . Pay tribute to the "drowned people" - marinated in a special way pancakes . And, of course, the crown of Bohemian gourmand - "vepřevo knee", a royal pork leg, which, bear in mind, is difficult to pull alone . Needless to say, any meal in these latitudes is accompanied by beer, or "pig", the national pride of Czechs . Wonderful confectioneries where they cook wonderful coffee, offer strudel no worse than Austrian, treat fresh baked goods, and, most importantly, famous the Czechs "froze fresh fudge "- ice cream in a glass with whipped cream and fruits. What could be nicer?

Entertainment, excursions and sights Peca

The entertainment industry is naturally developed in the city - there are sports halls, fitness clubs, restaurants, excursions are organized around the neighborhood. If you are you are tired of sitting in one place, we invite you to visit Hradec Králové, one of the most beautiful cities in Bohemia. The old town of Hradec is a monument of world significance, and, believe me, it is not inferior to Kutne-Gora. From the observation deck you can see at once two mountain ranges - Crokones, where you came from, and Orlice. In addition, there is the third largest bell in the Czech Republic - Augustine.
