On Friday, May 21, numerous ceremonial events took place in Korea on the occasion of the main Buddhist holiday, the birthday of the Buddha.

Festive services were held in all Buddhist temples of the RK, of which there are more than 20 thousand, and the main one is the Chogesa Temple in the center of Seoul. There on a holiday it was especially crowded. Representatives of other religions, including Christians, took part in the temple in the church,

Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea read out a congratulatory message from President Lee Myung-bak. Buddhism is one of the main religions in the Republic of Kazakhstan, its followers account for about a third of the country's population.
