In 2012, along the Khangan River, the movement of cruise ships will begin, which, going to sea, will be able to deliver passengers to foreign ports. The first cruise ship with a displacement of 5 thousand tons will go along the route connecting Seoul with the ports of China. In the beginning, the route will run from Seoul to the Chinese cities on the east coast. In the future, it is planned to extend it to Macao and Tokyo.

In 2016, a hotel on the water will be built on the main Korean river, Hanang, which will accommodate up to 300 people, and international water terminals will be available on Yohijido and Yongsan types of water transport. Seoul Mayor Oh Seung-hun also said that the construction of a 15-kilometer-long waterway linking Seoul to Incheon will be completed by 2020.
