Excursion around Kalyazin will be incomplete if you do not visit the Ascension Church. It was built in the late 18th century as a cemetery church that belonged to the St. Nicholas Cathedral. So, the main attraction of Kalyazin - the bell tower of St. Nicholas Cathedral - still lonely meets travelers in the middle of the river , reminding of anthropogenic flood.
