The Little White Chapel "The Life-giving Spring", which is in Saratov on the Theater Square, originally belonged to the cathedral dedicated to the holy Prince Alexander Nevsky. In 1866, in memory of the attempt on the Emperor Alexander II, the inhabitants of Saratov decided to build a chapel. It was only three years later that it was consecrated.
In 1910 Yegorov took up the chapel, he belonged to the guild of Saratov merchants, he invested his money in the building and rebuilt it very thoroughly: near the stone building there was an altar, and the chapel itself was consecrated in honor of the icon "The Life-giving Spring". But it was 1930, and the structure was unlucky: it was completely destroyed.
At the same time it is not known about the building who built it, but the appearance of this structure is unique. This is a large single-domed chapel of eclectic architecture.
In 1997 the city decided to restore the chapel "The Life-giving Spring". In order to recreate it, prerevolutionary drawings were found in the archives. The architect was oriented on them. The opening of the chapel was dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the Saratov Gubernia.
