The monument "The Sorrowful Mother" is dedicated to the memory of the soldiers who died in the Second World War and who died in Tambov hospitals from the wounds received in fights . The military grave is located on the territory of the Vozdvizhensky cemetery Tambov - here in 1975 the memorial of the sculptors K . I . Malofeeva and . E . Lebedev under the project of the architect B . . Sibirtseva . The central place of the composition is occupied by the sculpture of the grieving Motherland -mater, a semicircle around which the wall is placed , on the granite obelisks of which the names of the buried servicemen have been knocked out . The remains of the soldiers-natives of the Tambov region, discovered by the search units in the places of the last battles, still find their shelter, and the memorial itself remains the place of official mourning for the victims of the Great Patriotic War .
