The rich history of the Garden Museum "Tree of Friendship" began with a single tree planted in 1934 . by the Soviet scientist F . M . Zorin . The botanist's goal was to remove citrus trees resistant to colds . The tradition of planting other cuttings of citrus to this tree was entrenched, soon it was not only Soviet tourists, but also vacationers from other countries.In 1957, . the lemon tree was called the Tree of Friendship and became a symbol of the unity of the people and the present Sochi landmark . A total of about 630 vaccinations were done by representatives of 167 countries . Garden of Friendship
When it was no longer possible to plant cuttings on the first tree, this good tradition was decided to continue, planting another 60 trees. So there was a whole Garden of Friendship. Museum of Friendship
The history of the museum, like the garden, also began with a single exhibit . It was a casket with the land brought from the place where Lev Tolstoy was resting . In 1981 the . museum opened, which exhibited all these gifts on display . Letters but, coins, photos, trinkets, figurines - which is not here! Exhibits brought from different parts of the world, together paint a colorful picture of the customs of the peoples of the world .
In the Sochi garden museum, an amazing and truly a rare collection of other fruit trees, relic plants, there are more than 200 of them. Garnets, figs, feijoa, olives, rare species of ferns, araucaria, ginkgo and other plants have settled down here.
