The universal issuance of new biometric passports, including a microchip with fingerprints of the owner, will start in 2015 - an appropriate statement made the head of the Federal Migration Service Konstantin Romodanovsky

According to the official, the new system, launched last summer in Moscow and St. Petersburg, operates in regular mode and pok but that did not give a single failure. Over the past 5 months, more than 15,000 Russian citizens managed to become owners of the new generation passport. In parallel, the territorial offices of the FMS in two capitals continue to issue a biometric version of the document of the previous sample.

Recall that the design of a new passport includes a special procedure in which the holder of the document shoots fingerprints of both hands. The received images are recorded on the microchip of the passport, after which they are destroyed from the computer.
