The State Museum of the History of Stone-Cutting and Jewelry was created in 1992, thanks to the active support of the public of the city of Ekaterinburg The exposition of the museum presents outstanding mineralogical monuments. The earliest stone-cutting works in the museum collection date back to the 18th century. Here are the works of masters of the Yekaterinburg Imperial Lapidary Factory. The exposition of the museum introduces interesting objects from malachite, jasper and marble. Among them, a one-and-a-half-meter vase from the Kalkan jasper in the Urals.
Modern art of stone processing, which continues the traditions of the past, in the museum is dedicated to the hall "Modern author's stone cutting art". The museum is also widely represented in the museum.
The museum is located in the heart of the historical building of the city of Yekaterinburg, on the territory of the former pharmacy of the Yekaterinburg Mining Office, built by the famous Ural architect Mikhail Malakhov in 1821.
