The best collection of European paintings in the late 19th - early 20th century in Italy is housed in a chic palazzo of the century 18 - here you can see pictures of Bonnard, Kandinsky, Matisse, Chagall and Klimt, Rosso sculptures. The collection of the Museum of the East was based on items collected by Count Balbi during his travels around Japan and China. The museum is not very popular among the idle public, so genuine connoisseurs have a chance to wander calmly through its empty halls.
On the first floors works of Deineka, Matisse, Chagall and Kandinsky , and the last floor is occupied by the Museum of Oriental Art with collections of Japanese, Indonesian and Chinese figurines, paintings, porcelain and weapons.
History
Palazzo Ca Pesaro, built in the Baroque style, commissioned by the Pesaro family in the middle of the 17th century. For several centuries the palace passed from one owner to another, until his last mistress, the Duchess of La Masa, bequeathed the palazzo to the city. Finally, in 1902, the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Museum of the Orient are located in the palace.
