Villa Medici

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) closed yesterday a list of new World Heritage sites . To the volcanoes of Etna and Fujiyama, as well as the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra were added the ruins in the North Korean town of Kaesong and Villa Medici in Rome

Kaesong Monuments and historical sites represent a unique ensemble of the Koryo Dynasty (918-1392), which gave name to the Korean state. It included several temples and graves that witnessed the transition of Korea from Buddhism to neo-Confucianism. The ruins of Kaesong became only the second North Korean site (after the graves of the Koguryo era), inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List

Villa Medici, which occupies the slope of the Roman hill of Pinch, was included in the UNESCO list for the most important political role in Tuscany from the 15th to the 17th century . According to the representatives of the organization, "the political influence and monetary wealth of the Medici dynasty formed the basis for the generous sponsorship of a number of cultural European modern projects."
