The festival "Sagra degli Ozei" is the most famous in Italy exhibition-sale of singing and avian birds, always held on the first Sunday following the holiday of Ferragosto (August 15). This "bird market" does not even have bird rights: the first official mention of the vernissage, when Patriarch Raimondo della Torre arrived in Friuli, dates back to August 2, 1274. It was then that the residents of Sacile appealed to the patriarchate of Aquileia with a request to allow the market of San Lorenzo to inside the city walls, in order to get rid of the tax.

So, since 1274 and to this day, this vernissage is held every year, preserving its ancient original appearance, not affected for so much time by any fashionable outbreak .
