Goods arrived at the house by sea, they were immediately taken to the main hall where the customers came. . And a little earlier the main hall was used only for receptions and holidays . On the first floor, on each side of the entrance, there were office and storage facilities . One storey above, on the sides of the main hall, there were living quarters I was the owner of the house . In the upper floor there were servants and workers . On the side of the rear facade there was a courtyard with a well where the outer staircase led . Even when the Venetians ceased to be merchants, the palaces were built for a long time in accordance with these traditions, become typical for the Venetian architecture .
History
The palace began to build Baldassare Longen for the noble Bon family. In 1682, the architect died without having completed the palace: only two floors were erected. In 1751 the palace was bought by Giambattista Rezzonico, a wealthy pawnbroker, who moved to Venice. Rezzonico commissioned the completion of the construction of the palace of Giorgio Massari, which was done in 1756. Many famous artists participated in decorating and decorating the palace: Giambattista Kroasto, Pietro Visconti, Giambattista Tiepolo, Jacopo Guarana, Gaspar Dziani.
@ Rezzonico Palace is built in a characteristic for Italy manner: around the courtyard. Completing the palace, Massari completed the main façade according to the project of Longena, and the rear façade was changed by arranging a magnificently decorated entrance, a magnificent front staircase and an unusually decided ballroom for the sake of which the floors of the third floor were removed
The whole facade of the building is a spectacular game of dark and bright, so characteristic of the baroque.
