Padang-Bai is a small port town in the east of Bali. Most tourists come here to cross over to Lombok, and do not even know what they are missing. Yes, Padang Bai's own beach is not very suitable for bathing, as it is for any ferry terminal, and looks dull. But just next to the city, there are two beautiful places, including one of the best and little known beaches of Bali.
Blue Lagoon Beach is located in a charming little bay, which is ideal for swimming with a mask . Coral Reef starts right at the shore . It's better to enter the water from the far left side of the beach, there is a canal with fewer corals and you will get to the best observation points . To get here, just pass to the left of the city beach and turn to the road that rises I'm up . In 2-3 minutes you will see a small parking lot and a sign on the beach . There are two restaurants in the Blue Lagoon and you can rent swimming equipment . The only risk is that during the tide on the beach does not leave room to lie around: the dry area is occupied by restaurants .
Beach Bias Tugal (it's Pantai-Kecil - "small beach" ) is considered one of the "hidden treasures" of Bali . This is an amazing secluded white sandy beach , which lick long lazy waves . Bathing here is wonderful, although because of the strong current it's far better not to swim . There are several restaurants on the beach, though not too prominent . And the picture of the monstrous building of the resort hotel spoils a little . To find the beach of Bias Tugal, you need to climb 100 m up the hill from the police station, turn left after the Bamboo Paradise and go up about 5 minutes, then go down . During the descent, if the weather favors, you see the largest mountain in Bali, Agung, Your second party .
If time allows, and you are ready to stay in Padang Bai and have a little rest from the beach, it is worth to look at the palace of Kert Gos. It is located in Klungkung, about 17 km from Padang Bai. This is an ancient palace of justice, built in the traditional Balinese style. The palace was built in the early 18th century, along with a beautiful pond with fish and tropical plants. The ceiling is richly decorated with figures illustrating the Hindu epos of Bhima Swarga
In addition, in the Padang Bai area there are several interesting temples. The main five are: Pura Dalem in the heart of the town, Pura Segara by the beach, Pura Telagamas, Pura Tanyungsari and Pura Silayukti - at the eastern end of the bay. The last temple is the most interesting: it was built in the 11th century and now it has become one of the oldest on the island. To get to it, it's enough to go to the end of the beach and go up there, away from the sea.
