The Ministry of Infrastructure of Athens announced plans to build a new metro line that will serve the previously densely populated districts of the city.
The new project assumes the construction of the fourth, orange branch of the metro. The first phase of construction will include 9 new lines and will cost approximately 1 billion EUR. The Ministry of Infrastructure of Athens is currently negotiating the allocation of funds with the European Investment Bank. It is expected that the bank will give a positive response in the near future.
In total, the orange branch of the Athenian subway will consist of 29 stations
