The European Commission, the supreme executive body of the European Union, is currently working on amendments to the current legislation that will protect travel planners independently.
The European Commission came to the need to modify the legislation on the protection of travelers' rights by chance: in the last decade tourism business has changed to unrecognizability. If at the beginning of zero, the overwhelming number of Europeans bought package tours in travel agencies, today most of them plan their trips independently. Innovations should touch on such elements of travel preparation as buying air tickets, reserving hotel rooms and car rental.
By projecting all of the above to modern realities, we will understand that the European Commission simply wants to bring all the tourist operations carried out on the Internet under the legal framework. After all, it is there that the traveler is most often vulnerable because of the dishonesty of some participants in the tourism market.
Recall that according to a recent study conducted by British Airways, European tourists are increasingly resorting to the Internet for planning and organizing their own travels.
