The European legislation on the transportation of liquids on board passenger airliners has undergone a number of changes last Friday.
The main innovations were reduced to two key points:
- Fluids allowed for transport can now become an occasion for special control, within which the passenger will must confirm compliance with the existing rules. In other words, security officials will require an explanation of the reasons why the passenger found it necessary to transport the liquid on board, rather than in the hold.
- Alcohol purchased in a duty-free shop outside the European Union is now allowed to be transported on domestic interchange flights. In other words, a passenger traveling from Petersburg Pulkovo to Paris may not be afraid that the bottle of vodka he has purchased will be taken away before a transfer flight in Copenhagen. This innovation will significantly ease the concerns of Russian passengers, as before the transportation of alcohol from domestic duty-free was allowed exclusively on non-stop flights.
Recall that Russian lawmakers on the contrary - toughened similar rules by prohibiting the carriage of liquids regardless of volume (of course, except for goods , purchased in duty-free.)
