Belgian authorities arrested 31 people within two days as part of an investigation into the robbery of an armored van at the airport in Brussels, which resulted in the stolen diamonds worth 38 million EUR . During the spectacular action that took place on February 18 at Zaventem Airport, eight well-armed bandits, including one about disguised as a policeman, landed from two cars and attacked the Brink's fund's escorts, who were preparing to load diamonds to the Helvetic Airways aircraft to Zurich at the time . No shot was fired during the attack that ended in less than two minutes . After three months, last Wednesday, more than 200 policemen took part in the operation to detain suspects: out of 31 people, 24 were arrested in Belgium, 6 in Switzerland and one in France. The official report of the Belgian police says that part of the stolen diamonds were found in the detainees during the search. In addition, some of them managed to get luxury cars and considerable sums of money in their bank accounts.
