In the spring of 2014, Salzburg will present to the visitors of the city a "Museum sightseeing tour" - a historical route of the 17th century that arose in the Cathedral quarter during board of Cardinal Guidoald von Thun.

According to the Austrian National Tourist Office, the historical tour will restore the architectural unity, emphasize the spiritual and political significance of Salzburg and visually demonstrate the former influence of the prince's bishops . The path that remained closed for 200 years leads from the former representative halls and apartment apartments of the archbishops (the ceremonial halls and the Residence Gallery in the Old Residence) through the arches of the Salzburg Cathedral . From there the tour will take place through the Kunstkammer and the collection of rarities (Kunst- / Wunderkammer), as well as through the Long Gallery of St. Peter's Abbey and Valliaktor . Next, she will introduce participants to the Church of the Order of Franciscans, after which the route will again join the Old Residence .
