The Maryland Festival

The American passion for English history continues to capture the whole country and is expressed in the mass of popular autumn festivals associated with the Renaissance. The Maryland Festival, first held in 1977, is one of the longest and most famous and is held every year in Crownsville. This year it will last until October 21.

The festival will transfer its visitors in time and space to an English village of the 16th century called Revel Grove, set in a wooded area of 125 acres. In the village there is everything you would expect from the old English city, from the handicraft stands of knight arenas.

King and Queen, musicians, glass blowers, fish merchants, knights, choral collectives, magicians and "pretty girls" contribute to the atmosphere
