Blue cock in London

The blue cock statue, set up last weekend in central London, aroused criticism of the defenders of the British heritage, who saw in it the symbol of the French chauvinism.

The five-meter-long blue rooster is a work of modern German artist Katharina Fritsch . Having appeared only a few days ago on an empty pedestal in Trafalgar Square, the statue immediately became the object of unflattering statements from the conservative part of the capital's population . The actress hastened to protect her own work , stating that the rooster is a traditional symbol of revival, awakening and strength . But, to the great regret of Catarina Fritsch, in Great Britain the cock is associated with with the neighboring "victorious" France .

We remind that one of the four pedestals of Trafalgar Square has been used since 1998 as a site for modern art objects. It is planned that the blue rooster will spend the next 18 months on it.
