The main Muslim shrine of the city and one of the most revered places of pilgrimage in the Islamic world is the religious complex of the Sultan Eyup mosque in the territory of which is the mausoleum of Abu Eyupa el -Ansari, the faithful companion of the Prophet Muhammad . In the small square near the mosque, in the center of which there is a beautiful fountain, people always crowd .From the Eyupa mosque to the very top of the hill leads a winding path looping through the tombstones and mausoleums of the eponymous cemetery . A leisurely walk between the stone tombstones as an alternative to the hustle and bustle of the tourist center may bring you closer to understanding the soul of Istanbul . The reward for the difficult path will be a stunning view of the Golden Horn, opening from the top, which, incidentally, can also be reached by the cable car .
