Add a review about the Museum of Joaquin Sorolia in Madrid

Joaquin Sorolla (or, if in full, Joaquín Sorolla y Bastida) - one of those artists who strongly influenced the art form in his country, but is almost unknown in Russia .

Joaquin Sorolla - the most famous artist-impressionist in Spain. In this country, almost everyone knows his name. He also received international fame - taking part in the World Exhibition in Paris in 1900, he was awarded the French Order of the Legion of Honor. This is a serious indicator - indeed someone, and the Frenchmen will not be impressed with impressionism, and at that time Claude Monet worked there.

Joaquin Sorolei Museum is open in the house in which he once lived and worked, which is always interesting . The museum was created was his wife. In addition to his own paintings, the museum also houses a collection collected by the artist himself - paintings by famous Spanish (and not only) painters.

In addition to Sorolea's paintings, you can see the works of Mariano Fortuni, Sargent, José de Ribeira and many other Spanish painters . There is a collection of sculptures, small but very good - there are sculptures of Auguste Rodin, for example.

Exposition

The basis of the collection is still pictures of Joaquin Sorolei himself, there are many of them, this is the largest collection in Spain. There are portraits (there are few of them), genre painting, but most of all - still lifes written in his famous style: miraculous, as if covered with a light haze.

The most famous part of the collection is a series of paintings about the provinces of Spain, written by Sorol by order. Mountains, the sea, fishermen, merchants, the daily life of small villages - it turned out to be a very bright series.

Wonderful artist. It is difficult to describe his paintings - impressionism does not succumb to words. But if you love French painting of the 19th and 20th centuries, go necessarily, get a lot of fun.

The second part of the collection is the work of other artists. Here you can see the works of Mariano Fortuni, Sargent, Jose de Ribeira and many other Spanish painters. There is a collection of sculptures, small, but very good - there are sculptures of Auguste Rodin, for example.

Also there are temporary exhibitions. Usually it is either Sorolei's paintings from other collections and museums, or paintings of other Impressionist artists, most often Spanish.

It's interesting to see the house. He was kept unchanged, with furniture and objects, with the studio of the artist and others. The rooms are open for inspection
