The memorial complex of the submarine D-2 Narodovolets, founded by the Central Naval Museum, is a monument to the history of shipbuilding, as well as the memory of the heroes-submariners of the Great Patriotic War. During the war period, the boat made four military campaigns, fired nineteen torpedoes, destroyed four enemy ships.

After the war ended, she continued to serve in the Baltic Fleet. It has been a memorial museum since 1989.

Excursion around the memorial complex allows you to get acquainted with the internal structure of the submarine, with all its compartments, with its weapons, and also get acquainted with the activities of the Baltic Fleet military crew. The complex is located on one of the shores of the harbor of Vasilievsky Island, in the Skipper Canal near the Marine Glory Square. Next to it is one of the recently reconstructed hotels of St. Petersburg "Morskoy Vokzal" (the former "Morskaya"), which is located right in the Maritime Station on the shore of the Gulf of Finland
