Add a review about Annenskie fortifications

In the 18th century Peter the Great won Vyborg. The Emperor decided to turn the city into a Russian fortress. For this, new fortifications and fortifications were needed. Annenkron - this is just the fortifications that were erected at that time. They are named in honor of the Empress Anna Ioannovna. They are also called the kronverk of St. Anne.

Annekron resembled a crown - the usual imperial crown - and had a complex system consisting of ravelins, bastions, deep ditches and other obstacles. This was necessary in order to confuse the enemy and get a safe haven.

Today from Annecron there were only the building of the guardhouse and the Friedrichsgam and Ravelin Gate, built in curtains. Interestingly, the whole chain of buildings could survive to the present day, because the Annen fortifications never took part in the hostilities. It's a pity that they were not spared by the time.

For tourists, the fortifications are interesting as a military structure and as a site for historical battles: here are held knight tournaments and various festivals
