Jubilee Bridge - one of the symbols of Omsk. This automobile and pedestrian bridge connects the banks of the Om river. From the bridge opens a chic view of the river port and the whole city as a whole
This is the third bridge that is in this place . The remains of the first two bridges can still be seen. The first, Ilinsky bridge, was wooden. It was built in 1826 and existed until the beginning of the twentieth century. At the end of the 19th century, the then city head returned from a trip to Paris and was struck by the idea of building an iron bridge in Omsk. That was done by 1903. The central part of the structure was a drawbridge, and the bridge was called Iron or Paris.
After the completion of the new bridge in 1967, the old one was dismantled, but its piles could still be seen underwater for a long time. Even now, some parts are still visible.
The length of the Jubilee Bridge is 80 meters
Omsk citizens like to tell that there is an entrance to underground caves under the Jubilee Bridge. What kind of caves are they and whether they really exist, nobody knows for sure, but as a city legend this story has been living for a long time.
