The Russian government decided to reduce the VAT rate for domestic flights by 10% . The decision became part of the anti-crisis plan of the Cabinet of Ministers.
The federal law on reducing the VAT rate for domestic flights should be adopted by the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Finance on February 27, 2015. Currently, the VAT rate for domestic flights is 18%. This airline tax was not paid for flights in international destinations. Of course, foreign carriers were not taxed, which put Russian and foreign companies in unequal conditions.
Reduction of the VAT rate by 10% should lead to a small drop in prices for air tickets in Russia
