There is a tiny village near Tobolsk. It is located in the Tyumen region, and all are familiar due to two interesting facts: the Abalaksky monastery, in which miracles occurred, and a small tourist complex with it.
The village of Abalak is very ancient. It arose on this place even before the lands began to colonize the Russians, mainly Tatars lived in Abalak. And the name is from the native language for the Tatars: that's the name of the prince, in his honor the village and got such a name.
Not only the monastery and the tourist complex became famous for Abalak, there is a legend that it was here that signs were created. In 1585 the phenomenon of Nicholas the Miracle-Worker Ermaku happened. He bequeathed that the village would become the "home of God." In 1636 - a new miracle: the appearance of the icon of the Mother of God, in honor of this, the Znamensky church was built. And already by the 18th century, stone temples began to grow here one by one.

The most ancient among the stone churches was the Cathedral of the Sign. The date of its bookmark is 1683. The Cathedral of the Sign in 1691 was consecrated: at the moment it is a unique monument of Russian architecture. By the year 1783, the Abalaksky Monastery appeared.

Soviet times came: the monastery became a forge, a garage and a boarding school - in general, as always in such a situation, happened with all church institutions. And the monastery is known for the fact that Nikolay II and his family lived here.
At this miracles do not end: not far from the ancient monastery there is a tourist center - completely made of wood in the traditions of Ancient Rus. It represents the reconstruction of the Siberian jail of the times of the Ermak campaign, there is a voivodeship chambers, a fortress, a tavern and even a children's town.
The tourist complex of Abalak in many respects resembles another complex located in the Moscow region - Ethnomir. It's easy to spend the night here, but do not expect that the rest will be cheap.
You can try the real Russian cuisine at the "White Owl" tavern, the ski track in the winter, the reconstruction games if you got here at the beginning July, and in the New Year - a meeting with Santa Claus.
From Tobolsk to Abalak there is a bus. Entrance to the territory is paid.

This year I was lucky enough to get to the Fez tival "Abalak field-2014", which is held annually in Tobolsk in the village of Abalak in early July. Recently I have been living in Tyumen, but I often come to Tobolsk for the weekend to my friends. On the May holidays, they invited me to go to Abalak and take my daughter there. We went to Abalak on 2 cars (the road takes only 20 minutes from the traffic police post) and had a lot of fun there.
