The Iceberg Winter Sports Palace is one of the remarkable sports facilities built specifically for hosting the Winter Olympics in Sochi in 2014. The palace is a modern sports facility that can accommodate a lot of people: it is designed for 12 thousand spectators. Its ice arena has the standard dimensions for this type of construction - 60x30 m, and also includes a skating rink for figure skating and short track competitions - a new kind of speed skating for our country speed skating.
For the first time the Iceberg was opened for competitions during the "Federation Cup" in figure skating. The international testing of the rink was held during the final of the Grand Prix for figure skating, which was held here by the International Skating Union in December 2012 - January 2013. The tracks for the short track were used at the Russian Short Track Championship in December 2012. Another important competition is the Championship Russia in figure skating in December 2013 - also took place at "Aybserg."
Then, tive arena took a head start, and for which has been built - the Olympic Games in 2014. There were all figure skating competitions and short track competitions. Both parts of the program have become successful for the Russian team, so the Iceberg for Russians is a place of pleasant memories and impressions.
